Whew, it's been so busy lately! I've had so much to do that every time I sit down, I feel like I should be working on something. Even right now, I feel guilty for writing a blog post when I should be working on math, addressing baby shower invitations, or finishing up my FRG roster. Arghhhhhh.
My math class is almost done. I have one short chapter left and then my final. I must say it's been rather stressful trying to finish it a week earlier than everyone else. But I've made straight As on all my tests so I'm very proud of myself! I never thought I could do so well on math. We'll see how the next class goes in a few weeks, though. I'm also taking English 101 and Intro to Business. (I don't think this is going to be the most fun quarter. =P)
Andrew had a four-day weekend for President's Day, so we got out of the house for a little bit. One day we went to the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge to walk the new boardwalk trail. It was such a pretty walk.
We also went up to Seattle and visited the Ballard ship locks (very cool) and Chinatown. It was fun to do some less typical touristy things since we always seem to do Pike's Market and the waterfront every time.
Last week we had some crazy weather. It stayed below freezing for several days and we got several inches of snow. It was beautiful, but I think we are all ready for spring now!
On Thursday I went to Olympia and rescued my friend Keri, who was here from Arizona visiting her fiance (a soldier in our battalion). She had never driven in snow so she was housebound while it lasted. I've gotten fairly good at it so I picked her up and we went to lunch and explored snowy downtown Olympia.
I also introduced her to one of my favorite coffee shops, Batdorf & Bronson.
They do such beautiful coffee art!
More to come....this post is long enough already!
Wow great photos, Sarah!!! Congrats on your straight A's too! I'm not surprised at all though : )
ReplyDeleteThat is a giant coffee cup, I approve =P

ReplyDeleteWay to go and I'm here in WA too!!!

ReplyDeleteThat coffee house looks so neat! I love the coffee art!
ReplyDeleteNext time I visit WA, I'm calling you to show me around! All the pictures make me want to visit.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the A's! Good luck with the next quarter, although it sounds like you'll be great.
Love the photos! Congrats on doing so well! I think you'll rock the second quarter! I loved Intro to Business! :)
ReplyDeletePrettiest coffee ever!
Sounds like your math class is going really well. I hope you do as well next quarter.
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome pictures you took! You live in a beautiful area. :) And I love the coffee!
YAY for straight As! I think college math is easier than high school math - or perhaps we're just more motivated, then. I usually got Bs in math in homeschool, but I got straight As in college math. Great job!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures! I want some of that coffee. =o) And that's awesome that you're good at driving in snow now!
Whoa, giant coffee cups! Mmm good though!
ReplyDeleteI love the art they do, too; so pretty.
Snow is fun for a few days but then I'm ready for it to melt. We had 2 feet here but it's leaving us now.
Driving in the snow can be fun if you're on rural roads and not in the heart of the city.
Loved the photos; your photography is excellent!
Yay for straight A's! :)
ReplyDeleteThese are great photos... I want to go visit the Wildlife Refuge now!!
Glad you got to hang out with a friend and rescue her from the snow... looks like a fun day!
PS, I left you an award on my blog <3
ReplyDeleteI think another blog post is in order ;)
